TCDSB - Loretto College School

Loretto College is a single-gender school for girls. Founded by the sisters of the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary (better known as the Loretto Sisters) in 1915, the school continues to focus on developing the spiritual, intellectual, emotional and physical aspect of the individual student. The school has provided an excellent education for girls so that they can meet and exceed their goals. Loretto College is staffed with teachers who excel in their teaching and who have been awarded national accolades in History, in Geography and in Coaching.

 

It is the goal of the Loretto school community to continue the work of the Loretto Sisters to educate loving, creative women in a Christian atmosphere which promotes learning, fosters excellence, and encourages maximum development of the student as an individual. Rooted in Gospel values LCS is dedicated to academic excellence, providing a safe, caring, and engaging environment, nurturing students’ intellectual, social and spiritual development, fostering leadership skills, and community engagement. • Course variety: Loretto College School provides the Specialist High Skills Major in the area of Health and Wellness. Its state-of-the-art facility and program planning allow students who are interested in Health and Wellness to specialize in this field while in secondary school, earning unique diploma distinction and certifications. Additionally, the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) program, offers subject enrichment in grades nine and ten to students. Most recently, Loretto College has embarked on the path toward Advanced Placement with the goal of offering students the opportunity to write Advanced Placement Exams in grade 12. • Extracurricular activities: ​​​​In addition to the academic program of study, ​​students are encouraged to explore and develop the full range of their talents and interests by participating in athletics, student government, peer ministry, yearbook, leadership, drama, dance and musical activities.
